It’s coming up to Christmas, it’s cold outside and we can’t really go anywhere. And with going canvassing door-to-door currently on pause until further notice, we find ourselves in a world where the best form of canvassing is a simple phone call. 

But why should you pick up the phone? 

It’s easy. It’s simple. It’s second nature to us. So why not make a call that can make a difference?

We are all human and we all need to have some form of personal contact and Covid has made this harder than before. By making phone calls, you could be the only person that the voter speaks with on that one particular day. And whilst the Zoom quiz trend may have faded for now, telephone canvassing continues to provide the opportunity to make sure we stay in contact with people across the country who might want to have a chat. 

And as we head into the rollover election year of 2021, making calls will be one of the most important ways that you can help our candidates. No matter where you live in the UK, you can pick up the phone and make the calls that count, supporting every candidate and campaign across the UK from the comfort of your own home, and even, if you so wish, in your PJs. 

How do I get started? 

All you need to get started is an internet connection and a phone. You won’t ever need to improvise a calling script, or search for numbers to call. It is all done for you. All you need to do is create an account like you would Netflix or Amazon; then sign in, dial the number on screen, follow the script given and have a conversation with a person, just like you would with a friend. I promise you: it really is that easy. 

And you won’t be alone in making these calls, even if you are calling from your sofa on a weeknight. During the 2019 General Election we had thousands of callers up and down the UK making calls every day and night. We built a calling community. One that is still standing strong today and ready for new callers, like you, to join today.
